Guyer Cattle Co.
Robinson, Illinois

When you think about the competitive cattle programs across the country, Guyer Cattle Company most likely is one of the first to come to mind. Guyer Cattle is owned and operated by Dave and Lucy Guyer and their two children Ashtin and Nalaney. The Guyer operation is located in Robinson, Illinois. GCC runs about 250-300 cows along with numerous show steers and heifers. Dave, along with his “right hand man” Chad Day, oversee the day to day operations. On January 10th, GCC will host their annual Chosen Few sale. Guyer’s sale will feature roughly 100 head of open and bred females. Many of the females in the sale are progeny of or bred to bulls from the GCC bull battery. Guyer Cattle Company bulls include I Am Legend, Radioactive, Q Dog, Black Label, War Eagle, Business Done Right, Asset, 20/20 Vision, Monsoon and Grizzly. When having a sale of this magnitude, a great marketing plan is a must. Dave explained that the best advertising he has found is word of mouth and a great reputation.
After all, great cattle speak for themselves. Guyer also said that the internet seems   to be a close second place for him when it comes to effective marketing. As the   interview progressed I asked Dave what some of his greatest accomplishments   have been through the years in the cattle industry. Dave told me that his greatest   accomplishments included winning all of the major shows such as Louisville, Kansas   City, Denver and Fort Worth. Guyer went on to say that not any one show was more   special than the other but the accomplishment as a whole really speaks to the   quality of cattle that Guyer Cattle Company produces year in and year out.
