Welcome to the 2008 edition of the Champion Drive Pasture Sale.
We’ve worked hard this past year to produce a powerful set of calves that we truly
feel can help you be part of the “Champion Drive.” They’re a diverse high
quality group that’s bred for success both in the showring and the pasture.
Watch the website for continued updates. Initial bids must be in by 5pm on June 2nd.
As always feel free to give us a call with any questions about the calves,
or if you’d like to schedule a time to stop in and take a look.

We are currently attempting to get everything clipped and pictured. Weather permitting
the remainder of the calves will be on the website by the end of the week.

*Note: several of the calves pictured below are ET calves.

Tag #: 1
Sire: Money Shot Dam: Chi x Angus (Impulse)
Birthdate: March 12th
Floor price: $2500

We decided to sample Money Shot last year on a few of the Chi cross cows that we had been using Heat Wave on. We didn’t have very many of them, but with calves like this one Money Shot will factor into our 08 breeding program in a big way. When you talk about the kind that you want to feed, you describe a calf just like this one. He’s a big hipped, stout boned, soft bodied one that’s perfect structured and awesome haired.

Tag #: 2
Sire: Heat Wave Dam: Charolais Donor #3
Birthdate: February 26th
Floor price: $1500
If your serious about feeding a good breed steer look long and hard at this one. He’s a real dead head, and we’ve been trying to picture the calves as quick as possible (hence the poor pictures). He’s one of an impressive group of ET calves out of our #3 donor, and is a flushmate to the Tag #25 heifer listed below. These Charolais influenced steers have quickly become some of the most sought after calves on the market. But, as anyone who’s been out hunting for them knows, it’s extremely hard to find a good haired, soft ribbed, good necked one; let alone one that’s good structured. This calf has all the structure, power, and look you’ll ever want packed into an awesome haired peach colored package.

Tag #: 3
Sire: Dr. Who Dam: 6224 Donor
Birthdate: March 1rst
Floor price: $2500
This calf is one of two flushmates by Dr. Who out of our 6224 donor that’s in the sale. 6224 is an unbelievable phenotypical specimen with a defect free pedigree; we have been intensively flushing her over the last year because of her ability to produce calves like this one. He’s big boned, thick, hairy, and sound; and you can tell from the pictures how good his design is from the side. We think this calf has all the pieces to be a major player at a Midwestern state fair next summer.

Tag #: 4
Sire: Manchild Dam: Double Stuff Donor
Birthdate: February 18th
Floor price: $1500

This blue roan steer is a little older, but certainly doesn’t lack for quality. He’s super good haired, sound structured, and has more power than most any blue roan steer you’ll come across. We think that he’d be extremely tough in the early feeder calf circuit, or in the appendix division this winter.

Tag #: 5
Sire: Sunseeker Dam: Cunia Grandaughter
Birthdate: March 5th
Floor price: $2500

This sunseeker steer is out of an awesome young Cunia granddaughter. This was the first time that we’ve gotten her settled A.I., we were expecting big things and we were certainly pleased when this FREAK hit the ground. I won’t waste any more time with a description on this calf. Look at the pictures, then get in your truck and come check him out in person.

Tag #: 6
Sire: Maximus Dam: Meyer 734
Birthdate: March 4th
Floor price: $1500

We added this Maximus calf to the offering for some extra variety. He’s a double bred ½ blood, we feel like he could be an extremely competitive simmy steer or be an outstanding herd sire for anyone trying to increase the maternal power in their herd.

Tag #: 7
Sire: Radioactive Dam: Jiffy Donor (PB Shorthorn)
Birthdate: March 26th
Floor price: $1500

This is our lone shorthorn steer in the sale this year. His mother has been a proven producer of champions for us over the years, this calf is the first Radioactive we’ve had out of her and we feel he ranks among some of her very best at this stage in the game. He’s is LAND OF LINCOLN eligible, and everyone knows that good Land of Lincoln shorthorn steers are few and far between. His maternal brother by Kaboom was Reserve Grand Land of Lincoln at the 2007 IL State Fair, don’t miss out on your chance to make the sale of champions next year in Springfield, own this one.

Tag #: 8
Sire: Sunseeker Dam: 4082 donor (Meyer 734)
Birthdate: March 14th
Floor price: $2500

This sunseeker steer is a full brother to our high selling steer from last year. This steer is built a lot like his brother, except there’s just a whole lot more of him. This calf would rank near the top in terms of shear power and stoutness of bone. He’s awesome ribbed, good structured, and will be the right size for feeding for state fair.

Tag #: 21
Sire: SS Kaboom Dam: Jiffy Donor
Birthdate: March 28th
Floor price: $1500

This white Kaboom heifer is a full sib to the Reserve Grand Land of Lincoln steer at the 2007 IL State Fair. This heifer is a little younger than most of the offering but definitely has all the right pieces to be extremely competitive in the ring. She’s great haired, super sound, and extremely attractive in her design. This one should show well and be fun to work with as a cow if your goal is raising high dollar shorthorn steers.

Tag #: 22
Sire: Dr. Who Dam: 6224 donor
Birthdate: March 16th
Floor price: $2000

This red and white Dr. Who heifer is another product of our intensive embryo program. She’s a full sib to the Tag #3 steer. This is just the first crop of ET calves we have out of their young mother, but she’s worked in a big way with everything we’ve mated her to. We think this heifer could be extremely tough in the Appendix Shorthorn division, and we feel her real value may be in the donor pen. She’s got a defect free pedigree and has the perfect build to mate with Heat Wave. This is the only daughter we’re offering for sale out of this cow family this year, so invest while you have the chance.

Tag #: 23
Sire: Red Hot Dam: Fear This x Meyer
Birthdate: March 17th
Floor price: $2000
This Red Hot heifer is out of a super productive Fear This cow that we purchased from Dean Kephart. This heifer is near flawless in her design; the look that she’s gives you from the side is exactly what it takes to get you into the winner’s circle. We think this heifer could be highly competitive as a Chi or commercial.

Tag #: 24
Sire: Sunseeker Dam: Chi/Angus
Birthdate: March 27th
Floor price: $1500
This Sunseeker heifer is one of the youngest calves in the sale, but we decided to include her because of her unique build and body design. If you’re looking for one to run hard in the Market heifer division you need to own this one. She’s super stout, awesome bodied, yack haired, and with all that power she still maintains her structural stability as she travels.

Tag #: 25
Sire: Heat Wave Dam: Charolais Donor #3
Birthdate: March 12th
Floor price: $1500
This yellow heifer is an ET full sib to the tag #2 steer pictured above. Both these Charolais calves came out of a recip herd that was less than ideal in terms of nutrition, so she’s a little greener; but she’s improving everyday and has all the pieces to make a big time heifer that could be extremely tough in the Composite Charolais division. Also as an added bonus this heifer’s mother has been a no-miss producer, and we feel like this heifer should be a very interesting breeding piece in the future.
